Phases Audiovisual Performance
Album Release show + Interactive Installlation
I would like to curate an audiovisual-performance-centric night featuring two opening acts along with a performance of my new show Phases to celebrate the Phases album release.
Whenever a performance isn’t happening, the main screen and room will become an interactive installation, allowing the audience to actively manipulate and “play” with the visual systems I use for my show based on their movements.
Bio
Brett Bolton is an audiovisual artist and designer from Las Vegas specialized in creating live and virtual experiences. Using projected light, custom musical instruments, and real-time visual software as his main toolset, Brett’s work aims to transform flat physical surfaces into dynamic interactive environments and audiovisual performances.
Along with his own personal shows, Brett has created concert visuals and real-time systems for artists such as Harry Styles, U2, Purity Ring, The Rolling Stones, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and N.E.R.D.
About Phases
In his new audiovisual performance, Phases, Brett explores the various phases of matter, gradually transforming the screen behind him into solid, liquid, gaseous, and plasma states with a drum and XY controller. Every drum hit and touchpad gesture has an immediate musical and visual reaction, constantly changing based on the current state of matter.

Interactive Installation Component
Whenever a performance isn’t happening, the room and main screen can become an interactive installation. This will allow the audience to become participants, actively manipulating and “playing” with the visual systems I use for my shows based on their movements and location in the interactive floor area.
The designated interactive area on the floor will be directly connected to the shape of the screen. As participants walk through the designated area, they will be tracked and affect the visuals based on their position, similar to how I interact with the visuals with my own XY touchpad. My systems will be modified in order to track multiple people at once.
Tech Setup:
A tech rider for Phases can be found here:
Depending on the setup and space available, either a Lidar scanner or blob tracking IR camera can be used for audience interactivity. I have built similar systems previously and will adjust based on venue requirements.
The boundaries of this area can be designated with additional projection, lasers, paint, or some kind of physical object TBD.
